Be calm and composed on camera

Camera confidence – learn to appear calm and composed on camera

Media training has long been a service offered by those working in the industry and it usually involves a combination of learning both what to say and how to say it, particularly when something has gone wrong in your business.

The pandemic has changed a lot of things, not least of which is the way we use technology to communicate with customers and colleagues. Video conference calls have been around for a while but in the enforced absence of face-to-face meetings, ‘Zooming’ (other video providers are available) is now an accepted norm – and it’s something that’s not going to change anytime soon.

In some sectors, like education, the demands to adapt to on-screen communication have never been greater but no matter what your job even the most confident of public speakers find talking to camera a bit daunting. However, there’s a lot you can do to help you feel at ease in front of camera… but it’s not just all about you though. There are also simple practical and technical things you can do to ensure your audience stays focused on your message.

MCCP has many years’ experience of making people feel comfortable and confident in front of camera and offers bespoke, ‘camera confidence’ training to individuals or small teams of people who now find that a normal part of their day is trying to feel normal when talking to a camera.
